Lecturers & Librarians: Join UC-AFT as an Active Union Member
If
you are still a "fairshare" member of the bargaining unit, consider
joining as an active dues paying union member of Local 2023 UC-AFT @
Davis. The fairshare fee (recorded as an "agency fee") that is
currently deducted from your pay will not change*, but you will have a
voice on issues, contracts, and the leadership of UC-AFT and this local.
* Agency Fee: The amount withheld is the same for union members and nonmembers,
though non-members may request a small refund annually (the proportion
spent on union activities that are not considered strictly
representational), as required by state law.
